Drawing on the work of Blaut, Marsdan, and Ploszajska, the text books written by George Jobberns from the late 1920s to the mid‐1940s are scrutinised. This reveals that his first texts were influenced by environmental determinism but that he adopted some of Sauer's cultural landscapes approach once at the University of Cantabery.
