Data loggers, in combination with appropriate electronic measuring devices, can improve pumping‐test data by reducing cost and by increasing accuracy, precision, speed, and computational convenience. The data logger (digital recorder) described herein was tested and found to work well. Sensitivity to blowing sand and freezing temperatures, excessive power consumption, and poor display legibility in bright sunlight are minor design deficiencies that slightly restrict the usefulness of this data logger. These problems can be easily corrected.
