During a period of forty years, the author and his colleagues have developed a series of Theological (as distinct from chemical) tests to replace the subjective assessments of experts in various industries. In most cases, instrumental data correlated well with subjective judgements, but (so far as is known) only in one case is the Theological instrument currently used.
