Methodologies for the isolation of Aeromonas sp. from various sources, utilizing a broad range of media, are presented. Recommendations are made for the identification of Aeromonas isolates to the species level. The current nomenclature of Aeromonas sp. is discussed with reference to previously used taxonomic systems.
