Fears are growing in Australia over the future of the country's oil production following an unexpectedly large fall in the output of crude oil in the year to 30th June. Output in the fiscal year 1st July 2005 to 30th June 2006 declined by more than 10%, compared with the previous twelve‐month period, to 310,000 bpd. The production of condensate rose over the same period, but not by nearly enough to offset the decline of crude oil.
