SUMMARY Fragmented shoot apex culture of grapevine has been shown to regenerate plants free from the graft‐transmissible diseases stem pitting (legno riccio) and corky bark. The efficiency of elimination of the disease agents following 2 years of indexing based on 66 plants of three varieties was 100%.
