SUMMARY Kelthane was applied at several concentrations to the upper surfaces only of cucumber leaves. Strains of mites confined to the lower surfaces of the leaves, and therefore feeding on residues penetrating into the leaf, were assessed for mortality after 5 days. Differences were found between strains reported to be resistant and one known to be susceptible to Kelthane, although previous dipping tests had failed to differentiate between them.
