SUMMARY Measurements were made of the amount of copper absorbed by leaves from solutions containing 10 p.p.m. of copper as copper sulphate, with and without the addition of various amounts of complexing agents. A tentative explanation of the results is given. It is suggested that leaves can absorb both cupric ion and many copper complexes, this absorption being subject to interference from other substances in solution. The significance of these findings is discussed in relation to absorption of copper from spray deposits.
