SUMMARY The sorghum midge, Contarinia sorghicola (Coq.), is reported for the first time from the Anglo‐Egyptian Sudan. A short account is given of the distribution, life history, damage and control of this midge as it occurs in the Anglo‐Egyptian Sudan.
