Summary.1 The life‐history of the nematode is described. 2 The numbers of eelworms occurring in infected soils is discussed. 3 The external symptoms of diseased oat plants are described in detail. 4 It has been definitely proved that A. dipsaci can infect the oat panicle and grains and remain in a quiescent state within the harvested seed.
