Summary. The larva of the dock sawfly, Ametastegia glabrata , Fallén, which is a leaf feeder usually found on docks and polygonums, injured apples in East Norfolk by boring small holes into the flesh in which to pupate. They made from one to six holes in each fruit. They were kept in check by keeping the orchard clean.
