The children and youth program is a multidisciplinary multiagency project to train professionals to provide community‐based services for emotionally disturbed children. A coordinating committee provides the central structure to process referrals and establish treatment teams. Nursing has played a significant role in developing this project and in providing services such as crisis intervention, in‐home family therapy/family education, and team collaboration/case management.
