Summary In this study, the frequency of the CCR5‐Δ32 polymorphism was estimated in the human population of Malta. The frequency of the CCR5‐Δ32 allele was found to be 1.1% which was similar to that of other island populations, and agree with the north to south gradient observed across Europe.
