Summary Single nucleotide polymorphisms within the promoter or other regulatory sequences of cytokine genes were evaluated and compared between an Iranian population and populations of different ethnic/geographical background. In 40 healthy Iranian subjects, cytokine typing was performed by polymerase chain reaction–sequence‐specific primers assay. Allele frequencies were calculated and compared with those of other populations.
