SUMMARY A heavy chain variable region cDNA sequence of the channel catfish ( Ictalurus punctatus ) prototypical for a new V H family (approximately 20 or more members) is presented. The nucleotide and inferred amino acid sequences differ by 32–52% and 41–68%, respectively, from those for the already described catfish V H families.
