SUMMARY Sequence analysis of two independently isolated E β k cDNA clones revealed that the E β k molecule is identical to the E β b molecule at the NH 2 ‐terminus. These data resolve a discrepancy between previously published amino acid and nucleotide sequences and indicate that the E β NH 2 ‐terminus is not as polymorphic as was once believed.
