THE Mls LOCUS: PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE

This issue of the Journal of Immunogenetics is devoted to the Mls locus. It comprises papers presented at a recent Howard Hughes Medical Institute workshop devoted to this subject. The papers cover many aspects of Mls locus genetics, biology and function. Bringing these papers together should make it easy for investigators interested in this area to catch up on the most recent developments, as well as to learn the history of the development of this field. There is a growing interest in the Mls locus, and much of the background information needed to understand current research efforts can be found in the papers published here.
