SUMMARY The histocompatibility effect of M‐locus was tested by tooth germ grafts transplanted from newborn F1 hybrid (BALB/c x DBA/2) female mice to adult back‐cross BALB/c x (BALB/c x DBA/2) F1 female mice, typed for M‐locus. The number of surviving grafts was significantly higher in M‐locus compatible than M‐locus incompatible recipients and the allograft reaction was significantly more pronounced in M‐locus incompatible recipients.
