Summary Adenoid cystic carcinoma (ACC) commonly originates in the major salivary glands and respiratory tract, but extremely rarely in the oesophagus. We report the surgical and pathologic findings of a primary ACC of the oesophagus in a 59‐year‐old woman, and review the management options of this tumour.
