Book reviews in this article: Objective : To investigate the impact of an individualised computer learning system designed for older adults living in residential care. Method : A survey method was used to interview 13 people living in two hostels. Results : The participants increased their interest and confidence in using the computer through weekly participation in the program. Most participants indicated that the individualised learning and hands‐on experience were most helpful in developing their new skills. Physical disabilities and illness did not appear to significantly impact on the amount of computer usage. Conclusions : The conclusions suggest that the findings have relevance for program development.
