It examines the relative availability of these types of facilities in different Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT) regions; attendance patterns and staffing; client characteristics and outcomes; and operational issues. Particular attention is paid to the differences found in the survey between metropolitan day hospitals, regional day hospitals and day therapy centres in relation to size, client profile, length of stay and mode of operation. Alex Butler and Heather Russell are research fellows at the Aged Care Research Group, Lincoln Gerontology Centre, La Trobe University The Aged Care Research Group is the Evaluation Unit for the Aged Care Assessment Team program in Victoria.
