This paper is designed to highlight some of the difficulties which may be faced by aged migrants attempting to come to terms with unresolved life crises. Given the fact that migrants arrive in Australian from countries where war and political turmoil can force hasty migration on people, we need to foster an awareness of the trauma which may be faced by non‐English speaking elderly people, in what to the general service provider appears to be secure and unthreatening service providing structures.
