The Editor-in-Chief of the journal was Archibald W. Anderson, a historian of Education at the University of Illinois. Four people served on the Editorial Board, two from the University of Illinois and two from the John Dewey Society. The elevenmember Executive Board of the John Dewey Society and the Dean of the Executive Committee and Policy Committee of the College of Education were also listed inside. This first issue contained eight articles, three reviews, a page of editor’s notes, and a full-page advertisement from the World Book Company. The paper and the print were of good quality, giving the journal a decent professional appearance.
