Occlusal nasal radiographs of a normal dog taken before and after resection of the cartilaginous nasal septum were compared. No differences were seen in the midline linear radiopacities previously referred to as the nasal septum. It is concluded that the cartilaginous nasal septum is not visible radiographically and that the midline linear radiopacities visible in normal dogs are the vomer bone.
