This article describes the Los Angeles County Family Court Services Pre‐Contempt/Contemnors Group Diversion Program. This program was designed to deal with the continuing problem of parents who have high levels of conflict, are chronically in violation of custody and visitation court orders, and seek frequent court intervention. This article is merely a description of the program. A second article (to be published in a later issue) will report the immediate and 6‐month to 1‐year impact of the program on the client.
