Beautiful, healthy gingival tissue is achievable with full coverage restorations that are biologically compatible. The restorations must meet the following requirements: (1) respect for the marginal gingiva by proper preparation of the tooth and the use of a soft tissue model; (2) careful subgingival depth placement; (3) proper subgingival and supragingival contours of the temporary and final restorations; (4) healthy gingiva prior to placement of final restorations; (5) marginal integrity; and (6) polished bonding interface.
