Certain glass ionomer materials are now available for conservative esthetic restoration of cervical root lesions. Using a premeasured encapsulated glass ionomer system greatly improves and simplifies the restorative procedure. With no mechanical tooth preparation, exposed sensitive root structure can be reliably restored with a remarkably easy technique. A detailed method is described and representative glass ionomer cervical root restorations are shown.
