Security implications of climate change have become increasingly present in policymaking and research domain since the early 2000s. The same climate change impacts can lead to different outcomes in different contexts. As a result of its contextdependency, climate change should be seen as exposing already existing vulnerabilities rather than causing them. Therefore, climate change does not necessarily cause insecurity, but increases the risk of insecurity instead. As such it touches upon various domain like disaster risk management, critical infrastructure management, migrations, resilience and vulnerability management etc. This paper has for its aim to shed light on some security threats that may come as a consequence of climate change, like health, food, water security etc. It elaborates general impacts of climate change on different aspects of security while also reflecting on Serbian context.
