A four‐layer sandwich ELISA was developed for the detection of Clostridium perfringens enterotoxin. This ELISA method was sensitive down to 0.1 ng/ml of purified enterotoxin in trypticase soy broth, and 1.0 ng/ml of enterotoxin in heterogeneous solutions such as meat products and faeces.
