A method, suitable for differentiating between invasiveness and adhesiveness of bacteria on cell cultures is reported. The method employs a combination of differential interference contrast microscopy and UV incident light microscopy applied on the same light microscope. The accuracy of the method is evaluated by use of scanning electron microscopy.
