Based on electron‐microscopical studies of an avian conjunctivitis agent propagated in cell cultures and fixed in situ, the agent has been found to be a mycoplasma‐like organism, morphologically and ultrastructurally resembling Mycoplasma gallisepticum. Previously described caracteristica of the agent do not exclude that the agent taxonomically is placed in the mycoplasma group, but additional investigations are needed for a correct placing.
