The use of hydrolysed cow's milk formula seems to increase beyond what is recommended based on evidence regarding allergy‐preventive effect. Infants born preterm are sometimes given such formulas without proven effect. Conclusion: If the use of hydrolysed cow's milk formula is based on allergy‐preventive aspects, evidence‐based recommendations should be followed.
