. The aim of the study was to measure the real effect of growth hormone (GH) treatment compared to the effect of placebo, since a placebo effect has been shown in other studies involving interventional growth therapy. Changes in height velocity and insulin‐like growth factor I (IGF‐I), relative to pretreatment variables, were examined during a 12‐month, double‐blind study.
