Indira Nair (2012) analysed the Consumer awareness among under graduate students of Thane District. The research was mainly analytical and descriptive in which government has undertaken many steps to spread consumer awareness like advertisements in newspaper both at National and Regional level and also Radio broadcast via the program “ Jago Grahak Jago” and Nukkad Natak contest is undertaken to make students aware about consumer issues. Inspite of this the study revealed that the awareness amongst students is limited and thus exploited by the seller. So the conclusion was that the consumer education should be incorporated in the syllabus at school and college level, strict punishment should be given to seller, manufacturer and traders who indulge in malpractices. There should be faster consumer disputed redressal.
