Summary Elevated plasma tyrosine and methionine levels, together with excessive urinary excretion of p ‐hydroxypheny‐acetic and ‐lactic acids were found in an infant with hereditary fructose intolerance (HFI). Such findings may be common in HFI and this diagnosis must be considered in any infant with biochemical abnormalities of tyrosine metabolism.
