Except for the answer to the main question, the interpretation of the answers returned on the questionnaire was uncertain and tentative. This has already been discussed. However, for the sake of completeness, these answers are summarized in Table 12. Since the materials are populations, evaluation of the differences in frequency of reported acute head injury does not require a calculation of significance. It is obvious that children reported to have frequent headaches and children reported to have had other accidents were reported to have suffered acute head injuries more often than children in general. Those in the populations who were reported to have had seizures and/or reading and writing difficulties appear to have suffered an acute head injury, reported on questioning, which did not lead to hospital care, more often than other children. The importance that should be attributed to this finding and how it should be interpreted is not clear.
