Summary For the analysis of measured values of TTI the thorax can be regarded as a practically homogeneous volume conductor. A theoretical model is developed by which TTI can be evaluated in terms of volumes of the thorax. The instrumentation is described, and an analysis is made of the influence of leakage currents.
