Summary A case of haemangioendotheliosarcoma of the liver in a newborn boy is reported. The patient died 15 hours after birth. The autopsy findings are described, and the rare occurrence of this tumour is discussed. It does not appear to have been previously diagnosed immediately after birth. A few cases have manifested themselves in the 2nd‐5th month of life. Recent improvement in the prognosis for patients with hepatic tumours treated by surgery is mentioned.
