Summary In a collection of 19 cases of kernicterus the pathological‐anatomical changes have been studied. Alterations were found in the globus pallidus, nucleus subthalamicus, hippocampus and to a slighter degree in the thalamus. No changes were found in the putamen and nucleus caudatus. The correlation with clinical findings is dicussed.
