Summary The one‐minute alkali denaturation‐precipitation method for HbF determinations of Singer, Chern off & Singer has been modified to give a fourfold increase in HbF concentration in the filtrate. With this modification the denaturation‐preci‐pitation method shows good agreement with measurements based on spectral absorption changes. The method gives reproducible results within a considerable range of HbF and total Hb concentrations.
