Summary A case of the Hamman‐Rich syndrome in a 10 year old girl is reported. The duration of the disease was 5 years. Microscopy of the lung tissue showed an increase of connective tissue and dilated capillaries in the alveolar walls. Treatment with digitalis, penicillin and diuretics were without effect. A survey of previously reported cases of this syndrome in children is given.
