Summary A survey is made of the literature on injuries due to the hospitalization of children. These injuries are also illustrated by a few cases of our own. Etiology, symptomatology and therapy in hospitalism are discussed. Different prophylactic measures are presented as essential for the care of children in hospitals as wells as in institutions.
