Summary Of 373 patients with morbus hemolyticus neonatorum due to Rh‐incompatibility, exchange transfusion was performed in 170 cases. In these cases the mortality was 4 per cent in the newborn period. Only 3 of 101 patients showed cerebral damage on later investigation. On account of the great therapeutic value of the exchange transfusion and because of the slight risk which this treatment involves, a more liberal attitude t o the method than has hitherto been practised is advised.
