When W allgren , in 1927, introduced the intracutaneous method, he was establishing a solid basis for the more extensive use of BCG vaccination. He has since presented about forty papers setting forth his views on and experience with that mode of vaccination, and formulating the principles upon which its use today is founded. Thus W allgren has contributed, perhaps more actively than any other living investigator, to the advancement of protective inoculation against tuberculosis.
