Summary 1. Two cases of rickets resistant to vitamin D are described. 2. The effect of massive doses of vitamin D on calcium and phosphate balance is studied. 3. This disease is a well defined clinical entity and the name “Primary Vitamin D Kefractory Rickets” is suggested. The nature of the disease is unknown, but it seems likely that the pathogenetic mechanism is different from that in genuine rickets.
