Summary During the past 70 years, schoolboys in Stockholm have increased about 15 cm in height and about 12 kg in weight, while the increase in height of the adult population is scarcely half as great. No relation between family income and the weight of the boys could be shown. A slight connection between the income and increase in height cannot be ruled out. A significant correlation is to be found between height and social class. The probable reasons for this are discussed. Some relevant research problems, deemed to be of a particular interest, are briefly outlined.
