Summary. A case is described of hydrops congenitus with erythroblastosis which resulted in cure. The edema and erythroblastosis disappeared in the course of the first week of life. A hypoproteinemina was demonstrated. The plasma proteins increased as the edema disappeared. The cause of the edema in hydrops congenitus is assumed te be a hypoproteinemia. The patient was not anemic at birth and no anemia developed post partum, which indicates that there is no primary hemolytic anemia in this condition.
