Summary. 1. The citric acid milk causes an increase of the calcium content in serum in the beginning. This increase, however, is not constant later on. The content of phosphorus in serum is not influenced. 2. By addition of 0.4 per cent citric acid to milk a certain part of the protein‐combined calcium and nearly all the phosphorus are converted into ultrafiltrable form.
