Summary. A boy, three years old, healthy and well‐developed, who was by chance X‐ray‐examined, showed a typical interposition of the colon between the right part of the diaphragm and the liver. At a new X‐ray‐examination with a barium‐enema 3 days later the interposition had disappeared. On the other hand it was evident, that the hepatic flexure was rather long and winding. Of remarkable interest in this case is the low age of the patient, as the occurence of this symptom i a child so young as 3 years must be considered as an extremely rare incident. Furthermore it is of value to point out, with regard to the different theories of the genesis of the interposition, that this patient was well‐developed and well‐nourished, consequently showing no signs of heavy loss of body‐weight, general enterop‐tosis, hepatoptosis or reduced tonus of the diaphragm
