Summary The author gives an account of Dick‐investigations of 23150 conscripts in the army of Finland. Protective inoculation was carried out it 1756 cases. The result was satisfactory, the morbidity fell from 14.4 % in the control group to 4 % among the immunized. The possibility of increasing the effectiveness is discussed.
